Flora High School held its annual Field Day indoors this year after stormy weather forced a change in location. Even though the event is typically held in the football field, students and staff quickly adapted to the indoor setting.
The day kicked off with FHS’s traditional lip sync contest featuring students from grades 9, 10 and 12. Each group brought music and directed choreography to the center stage. Sophomores claimed first place with a performance of High School Musical, which secured victory in a majority vote.
Class competitions were held in the large gym and included a variety of team-based games such as campfire games, balloon pop race, four-way tug of war, air mattress race, two-way tug of war, hamster wheel, balloon waddle, tricycle race, pipe race, spider web relay, and dodgeball.
In addition to the class competitions, students had access to casual games and activities throughout the school. The small gym was set up for 9 square and pickleball, while the commons area hosted corn hole and pictionary. Concessions were available throughout the day, provided by the FHS band as a fundraiser.
