Flora High School’s 2025 Prom will be held on Saturday, April 26, with the theme “A Night in Old Hollywood.” The junior officers, Elise Duke, Kristen Pipher, Andi Henson, Draven Taylor, and Mackenna Hackney have been working diligently year-round under the guidance of their class sponsor, Mrs. Hemrich to prepare for the event.
The theme for this year was selected from a list of options provided by the sponsor. Junior officers voted on their favorite choice, and the majority vote decided the overall theme.
Junior officers have taken much of the lead with planning and organizing the event, including collecting feedback from peers and selecting appropriate decorations which are aligned with the black, silver and gold color scheme.
In order to ensure that the event reflects student’s input, the officers often discussed their ideas with classmates and incorporated that feedback in the decision-making process. Additional help has also been provided for decorating by the students who assisted with homecoming.
The evening will begin with the Promenade at 6:30 p.m, with traffic coming into New Beginnings Church being limited to promenade vehicles only. Traffic out of the lot will be restricted until the promenade is over. Immediately following, senior court family with tickets will be able to enter at approximately 7:00, while all other spectators may enter at the end of promenade. The dance itself will be held from 8:00-10:30.
