The annual Flora Academic Foundation Radiothon took place at Flora High School on the first Thursday of November.
This event is the largest fundraiser for the foundation and its goal is to provide opportunities to enhance student experiences.
The money raised is used to fund education expenses for students outside school and purchase education materials for classrooms.
Students can volunteer to perform during Radiothon and also receive community service hours. The band program provides entertainment as well as the kindergarten classes.
Radiothon is the main fundraiser for the foundation with a goal amount set at $20,000. Although they didn’t reach the goal, the event was still very successful.
Entertainment for the event lasts approximately 3 and a half hours. Donors are encouraged to call in and make a pledge on behalf of students and family members.
