February is the time of year for love, friendship, and the FHS Sweetheart dance put on by the FCCLA club sponsors Sherri Hamilton and Jan Bible.
This year’s dance was held on Saturday, Feb. 9 with the theme The Greatest Showman. The theme was based on the movie The Greatest Showman that retells the story of P.T. Barnum’s circus. The dance floor was decorated with red and gold streamers, a ringmaster and circus tent cutouts.
Returning king and queen, Dalton Hungate and Julia Atteberry, crowned the new sweetheart royals Nick Schafer and Lauren Edwards.
The senior queen attendants were Cali Wilson, Natalie Cox, Diana Vo, and Lauren Edwards.
King attendants were Collin Mosley, Max Thomason, and Nick Schafer. With limited members eligible for the court, a few junior boys stepped up to escort attendants from other classes.
This year 11 of the 19 students were first-time court attendants; it was refreshing to see a few new faces.
