The FHS Drama Club will perform Mean Girls on March 22, 23, and 24 The show is rated PG-13, but it has been edited to be family-friendly. The language has been edited, which was one of the hardest challenges of bringing the script to life.
Madyson Slover thinks the most difficult thing about playing Regina is, “A lot of people know this show and there are set expectations for the characters, so the character has to be acted not make it their own.”
“This is the very first year that the Drama Club has added Broadway-style dancing to our musical,” Samantha Mosbarger stated. They were initially nervous about the dancing, but they are now confident they can pull it off.
The cast members believe that being a good stage partner needs good chemistry together. They also think that the person you are working with can’t take what you say through the lines personally. Katie Muskopf says “When you mess up your lines, your stage partner can pick you back up acting like you didn’t mess it up.
Some of the characters in the musical are very mean to their friends. On the flip side, the actors are super nice, but they have to act mean which goes against their morals. “I am not a mean person, like at all,” Jayden Sloan said.
The movie is very different from the musical. The cast does not enjoy the movie and thinks that it holds nothing to the traditional musical.
