The Flora JV Football team has officially finished their season undefeated. winning seven consecutive games. These young athletes entered the year with high hopes, including the goals of going undefeated and completing their personal goals.
They accomplished this goal, maintaining a clean record while many personal goals were met along the way.
Demonstrating their remarkable teamwork, the Wolves presented a great performance during both defensive and offensive plays.
In week 1, the Wolves played outstanding offense against the Carmi Bulldogs, securing a 28-16 victory. “We could both run and pass the ball well,” states Thane Warren, the Wolves’ JV quarterback.
Following their victory against the Bulldogs, they faced CZR, continuing their streak with a 27-24 win.
Reflecting on their gameplay, they determined they had better defense, which helped them take the win. “We definitely played better defensively against CZR,” added Hudson Kohn, a freshman on the team.
In Week 3, the JV Wolves managed to steal another win of 36-28 when traveling to Red Hill.
This thrilling win only boosted morale surrounding the potential undefeated season but they couldn’t let up yet.
Week 4 was the highly anticipated game between Flora and Fairfield, two well-known rivals.
Since the beginning, the Wolves have expressed their desire to defeat the Mules and they gracefully did just that with a 20-14 win.
Nearing the finish line to their season, the Wolves secured a hard-fought win of 28-24 against the Hamilton County Foxes bringing their record to 6-0. Nothing could stop them from accomplishing their goal.
The final game of the season was capable of making or breaking their record. Fueled by morale and the support of their local community, the Wolves’s JV team triumphantly secured a win 36-30.
With their 7 wins in hand, they officially achieved the title of an undefeated season, creating a legacy within the team.
