The Flora Wolves basketball team won 2nd place when they attended the Vandalia Christmas tournament from Dec. 26-29.
At the start of the tournament the Wolves defeated Vandalia JV with a score of 65-24 and South Central 60-51. The wins from that day brought the Wolves record to 8-2.
On Dec. 27 they played Father McGivney High School resulting in yet another win of 48-38 bringing the record to 9-2. With no losses in the tournament they had one more team to defeat before heading into the championship game.
The Flora Wolves did just that against Shelbyville; with a score of 66-57, the boys were 4-0 in the tournament and a solid 10-2 for the season.
In the final game of the tournament they were playing 2017 state champs, St. Anthony. Although they took a 49-38 loss the Flora Wolves brought home a 2nd place trophy and Seniors Trenton Brown and Drew Woodrow brought back all-tournament team medals.
The Flora Wolves cheerleaders also competed in the tournament. After being watched by the Vandalia judges for multiple days the squad brought back a 2nd place plaque. Last year the cheerleaders won 1st place in the same tournament.
