Rachel Webb: M
The new math teacher, Ms. Rachel Webb, was born to teach math, however, she didn’t always think she would be a math teacher.
Webb has always loved mathematics and can even remember being punished in first grade for working ahead on her math homework; she also loved helping her fellow classmates with their math homework since the fourth grade.
Ms. Webb hadn’t decided on teaching mathematics until her junior year in high school, explaining that her math teacher inspired her to pursue a teaching career by unearthing her talent for teaching mathematics.
Ms. Webb attended Frontier Community College to earn her associates degree and transferred to the University of Southern Indiana to obtain her bachelors; Webb is currently pursuing her masters through Eastern Illinois University.
Before Webb’s employment at Flora High School, she worked at Wayne City for four years, and as a part-time math instructor at Frontier Community College.
You may think of Webb as just the new soft-spoken math teacher, but ironically, after school hours she can be found weightlifting with her fiance, James, whom she has been engaged to for the past six years.
As much as she enjoys mathematics, Webb also loves art, science, astronomy and biology, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.
