With a 31-6 win over the Paris Tigers, the Flora Wolves football team claimed their third victory for the season. With two regular season games remaining, the Wolves remain contenders for the IHSA playoffs.
Wins over Edwards County on Friday, Oct.16 and Red Hill on Friday, Oct. 23 would guarantee the Wolves a spot in the playoffs for the first time since 2009.
Senior Eric Szudy said “the pressure is on,” now that playoffs are a real possibility. “We have to take practices a lot more seriously, now,” he added.
The Wolves will go into their Homecoming game against Edwards County with a record of 3-4, while the Lions remain at 1-6.
The Red Hill Salukis pose a bigger challenge, as they currently stand at 4-3 with a game on Oct. 16 before their matchup with the Wolves.
The Wolves will kickoff at 7 p.m. this Friday at Dancey Field.
