For the first time in ten years, the Flora Wolfgals took home the Regional Championship on Febuary 12, 2015 from the Robinson Regional. Playing the Marshall Lions for the third time was a tie-breaking grudge match. With the Wolfgals beating the Lions the first time they faced off and then losing during their rematch, the girls were pumped up to win this game with an ending score of 55-41.
Despite not having two of their senior varsity players, Kylie Cox and Macy Warren, due to illness and an ACL injury, the Wolfgals “pushed themselves to surpass their expectations,” stated senior player Macy Warren.
The Wolfgals were not only motivated by family and friends, but the school’s Pep Club.
The Pep Club stayed positive throughout the game. The Wolfgals greatly appreciated the Pep Club being there and supporting and being a major part of their successful night.
The Wolfgals will face Hamilton County Monday February 16 at 6 p.m. in Conley Gymnasium in the semi-final Sectional game.
