Avery Booth, Raegen Billingsley, and Garrett Williams are all traveling to National FFA Convention October 28, to compete with their science fair projects. Avery Booth and Raegen Billingsley’s project is about the size and scatter of different shots for guns. Garrett Williams’ project is called “Get UP and Get Growing,” the study of plant growth regulators and inoculants.
To be eligible for National Convention, students must compete at Section, District, win the state science fair, then be selected by a panel of National Judges for top 15. Only the top 15 per category per division, approximately 300 competitors, get to compete at National Convention.
Other FFA members are going to National Convention on October 30. There will be a Career Exposition, Nation College Fair, and a giant mall, along with other activities.
Upcoming events for FFA include a float in the Flora Halloween Parade, Section 23 Ag Sales, and Section 23 Agronomy events.
