Ethan Steber will take over as FHS’s band director the following year. The current director, Jena Combs, will be taking a new job at a nearby college, leaving Mr. Steber in charge.
Steber is trying his best to take in as much information as he can. He has a lot to oversee in the upcoming year.
“I think the hardest part about being the new Director of Bands is trying to learn everything that I need to know about the music program in this short amount of time,” Steber commented.
When asked about his discipline methods, he discussed that if an issue arises, he’ll have a one-on-one with the misbehaving student.
He has also expressed his preference for the high school band. “Having the opportunity to work with students 4-12 grades have definitely solidified my desire to work with high school students.”
When asked about his decorating plans, Steber replied, “Over the summer I plan on looking at our room to determine if there are any other ways that we can increase the efficiency to best suit the needs of our growing program.”
When asked how they think they’ll adapt to Sterber’s teachings, Corey Daniel said, “I think I’ll adapt well to his teachings.”
The band room will continue to sell food and drinks. Steber said that he would take into consideration what the students would like to buy from their recommendations.
