Flora Student Council has come together to honor alumni who have joined the U.S. Military. The plan is to have the display placed on the East side of the commons in the high school.
The idea sprouted from the class officers who attended a leadership conference in early October at Lake Land college in Mattoon, IL.
The council is expecting to have around 15 names on the wall after this year. The first set of names will include the 7 students who enlisted last year and the students who will enlist this year.
If you know of somebody who graduated prior to 2015 who would like their name on the wall, call Flora High School and give their name, year graduated, and branch of service.
The wall with the names of 2016 and 2017 graduates is being funded by the Student Council. The cost of adding previous graduates to the wall is yet to be determined.
