Each year, Flora High School hosts a senior awards ceremony in the auditorium. During this ceremony, various scholarships are granted to graduating seniors. These scholarships range from $200 to $2000 or more, and they come in the forms of memorial scholarships, academic scholarships, and athletic scholarships.
This year, the Flora Academic Foundation, who awards most of the scholarships, calculated the total amount of money granted via scholarships to be approximately $450,100. This money included scholarships given to seniors by the colleges they are attending next year.
Among these scholarships and awards, Olney Central College gave out $22,000 and our own Gerald Klein gave out over $2000 in two-dollar bills to all staff members and students.
In addition to the various scholarships, the teachers of each of the departments within the high school handed out departmental awards. These awards include:

Art: Rhana Headley
Patrick S. Gilmore Band Award: Meg Hout
John Phillip Sousa Band Award: Al Stewart
