The National Honor Society has chosen members for the next school year. New members were notified of their acceptance earlier in the year.
They held their annual induction ceremony and banquet Wednesday, May 6 in the FHS commons During the ceremony the current officers recited the morals for what the National Honors Society members should uphold and passed their roles to the new leaders.. They also have a banquet the same day for new officers and members to get recognized.
Being in the National Honor Society can get students into more colleges and can get you scholarships. To be in the National Honor Society you have to have to maintain a cumulative 3.5 GPA, leadership, and character. Only juniors and seniors are eligible.
The retiring officers are Makenna Hackney, Elise Duke, and Haley Wicke. The new officers are Qynlin Brown, Kormik Massie, Paxon Pearce, and Mya Sloan.
The group’s activities next year will include taking an educational field trip and selling senior shirts.
