The Flora Wolves basketball team has officially started a new season. Their first game took place at the Carlyle tournament where they took a loss against Okawville. The boys didn’t let the loss stop them from playing their hardest during the rest of the tournament as they finished 3rd overall with a 3-1 record defeating Carlyle (58-55), Hillsboro (59-45), and Freeburg (64-61).
On Dec. 5 the first regular season game took place in our home gym against Edwards County Fighting Lions. Due to hard work and playing together the boys pulled out a 50-41 win putting the record to 4-1.
When asked about the performance of his team so far coach Leib commented, “the boys are playing hard. We’re doing some new things this year and they’re really buying into the system. I’m pleased with the season so far.”
The boys will play again on Dec. 8 against the Lawrenceville Indians at our home court. JV starts at 6:15 with Varsity to follow.
