Flora class of ‘26 cheerleaders had their last chance to cheer as seniors Monday, February 9.
Many of the cheerleaders shared some of their highlights. For Elise Duke the best part was “making close friends with the girls and going to Vandalia,” and Andi Henson stated “winning regionals sophomore year.”
None of them are going to college for cheerleading besides Haley Wicke, and she signed with Greenville University.
Cheerleading isn’t always easy, Hailey Wicke said “the hardest part about competitive cheering is definitely stamina and endurance in the regular basketball/football cheer, I think tumbling and advanced stunts are the hardest part.”
Makenna Hackley said “the hardest part about cheer is definitely having a stunt not work or conflicts among the team.”
Ella Cammon said “it’s hard having to act like you are in a good mood in front of the crowd even after the worst days.” Sydney Dawkins said it’s hard “getting thrown in the air while stunting.” Elise Duke stated “doing pyramids and making sure everyone is safe.”
Many of them are going to miss their friends.
