Every year at FHS, the Drama Club works to perform their chosen musical. In March of 2026, FHS Drama club performed the musical, Annie. With hard work by both cast and crew, the show paid off and was a success.
“I believe that it was an equal amount of work for both cast and crew, while parts of it were harder for one group than the other. I would say it was the same level of difficulty.” says Abbigale Hockgeiger, a freshman who has started her drama club journey as a crew member. She also claims that she doesn’t think they had very many disagreements about how everything was going.
However she does say this, “We went through several troubles during the musical but the main ones I can think of are the fact that the clock on the wall behind the stairs in the mansion scene fell twice and shattered once; luckily we had a replacement. Another issue we had was that we had to remake a whole set piece.” Because of making a new piece this may have set them back a slight bit, but after efforts from both sides, they were able to get the job done. In the end, it paid off and everyone enjoyed this year’s musical.
Abbigale adds, “I highly enjoyed the production. It was very stressful but very fun and I made a lot of new friends due to joining.” Not just those who enjoyed watching the show, but all students working with the Drama Club really enjoyed working and were happy with how it turned out.
Abbigale states that it was very fun to be a part of the crew for the first time, while some moments were very stressful. It was quite fun and she made a lot of friends while helping with the production which she believes is is a way to persuade many others to join in the future, Abbigail also believes the musicals and performances are also a big part of persuading younger students to join Drama Club when they arrive at the high school.
After the musical finished, many people, both townspeople and students, enjoyed the production. Any new student is a bright light that makes FHS’s musicals unique every year! After this year’s success, the Drama Club hopes to welcome future FHS students to join the Drama Club family.
